Mug Brownie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons (16g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons (8g) unsweetened cocoa powder (or Dutch process)
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ½ tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) mini chocolate chips, optional

Instructions

  • Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, and salt in a small bowl.
  • Add oil, egg, and water and stir.
  • Spray a mug or ramekin (at least 7 ounces) with nonstick cooking spray. Add the batter and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Cook in the microwave on high power for approximately 1 minute. A toothpick will come out from the edge with just a few crumbs.
  • Cool at least 5 minutes before eating.

Notes

  • Feel free to add chopped nuts or a tablespoon of nut butter.
  • You can swap any oil or melted butter.
