It’s Friday again. Weird how that happens.
Did you have a good week? Ours was busy, preparing for next week.
Next week is going to be one of those weeks. You know the ones you have to mentally prepare yourself for? The ones where the promise of time moving fast and the reward of a weekend and a glass of wine get you through?
One reason for the craziness next week? It’s teacher appreciation week. And that kicks off the “here’s what I did this week” segment of the program.
1. Need teacher appreciation ideas?
I got you covered.
2. Need a new treat you can eat with a spoon?
Look no further. Seriously.
3. Need something you can serve for Cinco de Mayo?
It doubles as something you can also freak your family out with. In a good way. It’s a win-win.
4. Mel emailed me this photo the other day. He saw it on Facebook. I found it on pinterest but I have no idea where it originally came from. If you love dogs, grab a hankie.
5. Now something to make you laugh. Kristin reminded me of this blog post and how much I want a huge chicken.
6. I love how us bloggers get sourcing. We understand that, if someone thinks of a super great idea and we use it, that we need to give credit. It’s cool. {Also, it’s moral, but that’s another story.} It just kind of sucks that in real life, people don’t feel the same way. They have no problem taking your ideas and running with them, never outing you as the source, so you get to listen to how fabulous the person is “who came up with the great ideas.” {Also, I’m to weak to speak up for myself.}
7. I have a totally cool weekend planned. Sorry, but I have to brag a little. Mel is golfing in a charity golf event for Special Haven, a non-profit organization which will be a multi-sensory environment for children and adults with Special Needs. (One of Mel’s good friends is very involved with the organization.) There is also a banquet after all the golf. So, since it’s a few hours from home, we get to stay in a hotel. Which means that Jordan is going to her grandparents’ house and we get a weekend alone. *Happy Dance* Oh, and do something for a good cause too. 🙂
I hope you all have a good weekend! See ya’ on the other side.
xo,
I’m glad you get a romantic golfing weekend alone! Woohoo for hotels and room service and miniature bottles of shampoo to steal! I’m excited for you 🙂
And blaaaaah, I couldn’t even read the dog thing. OMG, I am such a crybaby about animal stuff that I’d be bawling for DAYS(yes, days) after reading this because I’d still be thinking about it. Ugh, I am so weak!
Well, Mel is golfing. I am shopping. 🙂 Have a great weekend Hayley!
I saw the ‘i want a huge chicken’ and thought- PLEASES LET THIS LINK GO TO THE BLOGGESS, and then it did, and now I know we need to be friends. 🙂
🙂 I love her. I have trouble following, but I check her when I remember. Have a great weekend!
I so should not have read that at work, I want to cry. I miss my dog so much but cannot afford to have a new one yet, oh the day when I can. But the food you shared made up for it;p And I so hate seeing things I have made and you know you are so proud of them and others take credit! But I too never say anything. And I hope your week goes fast, I have a huge busy week, with no real fun in it lined up, so you know, it could be worse right;)
🙁 So sorry Sue. My doggie is 10. I am dreading what is to come in the next few years… I hope that you have a good weekend!
I need to get on those teacher gifts! Great ideas! Thanks for entering my giveaway!
Thanks for hosting it! I want to win! 🙂
Happy Friday Dorothy! I love your Whatever Fridays – so fun to read! Have a great Cinco de Mayo! That avocado frosting is calling my name… i have 4 ripe avocados screaming to be used up ASAP 🙂
