Easy Fudge Recipe for Valentine’s Day
Easy fudge with sweetened condensed milk is my go-to recipe. This one has a few extra steps because it’s layered fudge with white chocolate and milk chocolate – but it’s worth it because it’s so pretty. Top it with conversation hearts to make it perfect for Valentine’s Day!
I made a layered Halloween Fudge, and y’all loved it, so I wanted to do it again for Valentine’s Day. Even though it’s layered and that does involve an extra couple of steps and an extra dish to wash, it’s still super easy. And, well, it’s fudge. With a cute conversation heart on top. And it’s part pink. Everyone will love it!
Ingredients
- Chocolate Chips: The bottom layer is made of semi-sweet chocolate chips (or you can use milk chocolate chips). The pink layer uses white chocolate chips.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: I use fat-free for this recipe but you can use regular as well. You need a 14 ounce can (it’s 14 ounces by weight, not volume). You’ll use half the can for each layer, approximately 5 liquid ounces (just over 1/2 cup).
How to make Valentine Fudge
- Melt the chocolate chips with half the sweetened condensed milk until smooth and melted. Stir in a pinch of salt and half the vanilla extract. Place it in a 9×9 or 8×8-inch baking pan lined with foil.
- Once the chocolate layer is in the pan, you chill it about 30 minutes, so the pink layer won’t mix with it. The pink layer is the rest of the SCM mixed with white chocolate chips. At the end, when you add the vanilla extract, you add a few drops of red food coloring to give it the pink hue.
- Once you pour the pink layer on top the chocolate, you quickly place the conversation hearts in even rows on the top.
- Once it’s set you cut it into squares. My pink fudge layer was a little softer than normal, but it still set up.
Expert Tips
- Use any flavor extract in place of the vanilla. Cherry, Strawberry, or Raspberry extract would be delicious in the pink layer.
- Be sure to prep all your ingredients and pan before starting. Fudge making is fast!
- Line your pan with foil or parchment for easy removal and slicing.
- Chill the fudge to set completely.
FAQs
Make sure you’re using half the can of sweetened condensed milk for each layer (5 liquid ounces or 7 ounces by weight). Chill and store in refrigerator if it’s soft.
This will last 2 weeks when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Men do have it easier, if only they knew half of what we go through hehe. This fudge looks super pretty, I love the layers and the cute heart candies – perfect for Valentine’s Day ๐
ADORABLE!! My kids love fudge but would love it even more with the conversation hearts!!
Pssssh, guys take all of five seconds to get ready. And while I’m usually a quick dresser, I am totally like you — mentally prepping myself about who could possibly be there, what I’ll possibly say to them, what I’ll wear, how I’ll do my makeup, etc. I need like, an entire 48 hours before an event to plan for said event. #girlproblems I am so wanting this fudge!
Your description had me smiling and nodding my head! Its like I knew the next line because I live the same scenario every time my husband and I get ready to go anywhere! ๐ What do men accomplish in all of that extra time they have?
Fudge question: Are these firm enough to cut out in heart shapes with a cookie cutter? Fudge hearts with conversation candies would make such a cute gift! I realize there would be fudge scraps left over that I would have to eat….but I would be willing to make that sacrifice. ๐
I definitely think so! I would cut them when they’re right from the refrigerator, but they’d be perfect hearts!
Dorothy, I wanted to let you know that your fudge recipes were a HUGE success in my Valentine’s Day care package!! I have been drooling over and pinning your fudge recipes for the longest time but never found the right moment to try them…I had never made fudge and wasn’t sure how involved it would be. Not only was your fudge delicious but dangerously easy to make!! I say thank you and my son (the care package recipient) says THANK YOU! I was sure my son would ask why I sent so much fudge (3 different recipes) but instead he encouraged me to send more whenever I felt like it! I made this Valentine’s Day fudge, Amaretto fudge, and Oreo fudge. Yum!!
I’m so glad Wendy!!! yay!!! I’m glad it traveled well. ๐
