What is a S’more Oreo Truffle?
If you’ve never had Oreo truffles before, you’re in for a treat! They’re quite possibly the easiest things ever to make: crush Oreos with cream cheese in a food processor, and it makes a paste that you can roll into bite-sized truffles.
There are about a gazillion ways to make them, and today, I’m showing you how to make s’more Oreo truffles. First, because – hello! – they’re everything you love about s’mores, and, second, they are the best for gifting. I make batches of them for teacher appreciation week, which happens every May.
I even have a fun printable so you can make cute bags and fill them with these truffles for your favorite hard-working teachers. But, first, let me share more about these sweet treats.
Easy S’mores Truffles
Oreo truffles are a fool-proof treat to make – you really can’t mess them up! There’s no baking, cooking, or complicated steps.
I wrapped a mini marshmallow in the center for these s’more truffles and dipped them in milk chocolate (I love Candiquik). Then I sprinkled them with graham cracker crumbs and marshmallow bits. (You can find marshmallow bits at Target and Walmart in the baking aisle.)
Once you’ve made them, just pop them in the fridge until they harden – they taste like s’mores but as a fun Oreo truffle instead!
Ingredients in S’mores Truffles
Oreo cookies: Use your favorite flavor!
Cream cheese: you can use low-fat cream cheese or regular.
Chocolate Candy Melts: Find these in the baking aisle, I recommend Guiradelli Wafers or Candiquik
Mini Marshmallows: For the filling, be sure to use fresh!
Graham cracker crumbs: Crush your own graham crackers with a rolling pin
Marshmallow bits: They sell these sometimes near the other marshmallows – they come in a canister like parmesan cheese.
How to Make S’mores Truffles
- Place the cookies and cream cheese in a food processor. Blend until they are well blended. You should be able to form balls with it. If yours is too crumbly, you can add up to one more ounce of cream cheese.
- Use a cookie scoop to form one tablespoon balls and place them on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Make an indent in the center of each ball and place a mini marshmallow in it.
- Wrap the truffles around the marshmallow, and then roll each ball between your hands to smooth it. Chill the truffles while you prepare the chocolate.
- Melt the chocolate coating according to the package instructions. Use a spoon to dip each truffle in the candy coating. Use a fork to lift the coated ball out of the bowl and allow the excess chocolate to drip off.
- Place the coated truffles on the cookie sheet and top each with a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs and a few marshmallow bits.
- Chill the Oreo graham balls until they are set.

Simply cut out the labels and fold them in half. Place your truffles in a cellophane bag (with a 5″ opening) or a fold-top sandwich baggie. Fold over the top of the bag and staple it shut. Then use double-stick tape to tape the labels on the bag. Easy peasy!
Expert Tips
- Watch my “How to Dip Truffles” video, and you’ll be dipping your truffles in chocolate like a pro!
- If you have an electric griddle, warm it to 200°F and place a dishtowel on top. Place your bowl of melted chocolate on top, and it will keep it warm while you dip your truffles.
- You can store your truffles at room temperature for up to three days. If you are gifting them, I recommend keeping them in the refrigerator. They will keep for up to three weeks.
- You can also freeze smores truffles for up to two months.
Even if you don’t give these s’more Oreo truffles to a teacher, you need to make them for YOU. They’re so easy and go down way, way too easy – you’ll definitely want s’more!

S’more Oreo Truffles
Ingredients
- 15 Oreo Cookies
- 2 ounces cream cheese low fat or regular
- 8 ounces chocolate melting wafers (such as candiquik or Guiradelli Wafers)
- About 17 mini marshmallows
- 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
- 2 tablespoons Marshmallow bits optional
Instructions
- Place Oreos and cream cheese in the bowl of a food processor. Run the processor until the mixture comes together. This took mine about a minute. If, for some reason, the mixture is not able to form balls after the processing (if it’s too crumbly still) you can add up to 1 more ounce of cream cheese, but mine only needed 2 ounces.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon sized balls and place them on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Pick up each ball and make an indentation in the center with your finger. Place a mini marshmallow in the hole and wrap the truffle around the marshmallow, then roll between your palms to seal. Repeat with all truffles.
- Chill truffles while you prepare your candy.
- Melt chocolate according to package directions.(I heated mine for about 1 1/2 minutes on HIGH, stirring every 30 seconds.)
- Tip: heat an electric griddle to 200°F and line it with a kitchen towel. Place your bowl of melted candy on the griddle so it stays melted during dipping.
- Dip each truffle in the candy and tap off the excess. I use a spoon to coat the candy, then I place the truffle on a fork and tap off the dripping candy. Use a toothpick to carefully transfer the truffle from the fork back to the cookie sheet. Sprinkle with some graham cracker crumbs and a few marshmallow bits. Repeat with all the truffles. Chill until set.

I am totally making the truffles and the printables. Love this so much!
Enjoy Amy!!! Try not to eat them all before giving them to the teachers. I’m having that problem…
Way to reinvent the oreo truffle! And these are amazing! Gorgeous looking and all the best flavors included! Also your printable is adorable – can’t wait til my little guy is in school to use it ๐ Pinning!
Thanks for the pin Chelsea!
Oh my gosh, these are the best truffles I’ve ever seen Dorothy! Jordan’s teacher sounds fantastic and that’s awesome that she loves books so much now! These truffles look amazing and would surely show any teacher or person how much you appreciate them – they look perfect! Pinned ๐
Thanks so much for the pin!!
I LOVE THESE so much Dorothy! What a great idea!
Jordan is so lucky to have Mrs. W as a teacher and you as a parent! That’s incredible that she loves reading now (is math getting any better too?), and you’re so sweet to buy her books. I had quite a collection on my bookshelf in my parents’ house, and I re-organized it by title, author, or just my favorites every few summers. I loved going to used book stores more than Borders and B&N though; something about the well-worn pages (especially the warped ones dropped in bathtubs) was so magical and special. And your s’moreo truffles?? Brilliant! I could totally use a few right now! ๐
I wish math was getting better!! At least now we can skip the 20 minutes of HW reading because I know she’ll read at night and she reads most recesses (and even in the bath). So we can spend an extra 20 on math…to her supreme delight, ha!
That’s awesome how much she’s reading — even at recess and in the bath!! Who knows, maybe next year’s teacher will have her drawing out multiplication tables in the bubbles in her bath… One can hope, especially since her mom loved math so much! ๐
