Boozy Peppermint Mocha Recipe

If you never had a snuggler before, it is hot chocolate with a spike of peppermint schnapps, basically Christmas in a glass. It combines the classic holiday flavors of chocolate and peppermint plus coffee and or schnapps.

This holiday drink can also be for kids to enjoy! Served plain as a hot chocolate and my favorite peppermint coffee creamer. Either version of this peppermint mocha recipe can be topped with marshmallows or whipped cream to enjoy with a Christmas movie!

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Combines the classic Christmas flavors of chocolate and peppermint to get you in the holiday spirit!
  • I replaced this traditional recipe’s milk with peppermint mocha coffee creamer making this a unique crockpot hot cocoa cup!
  • Can be enjoyed by both kids and adults! The boozy peppermint mocha for adults or the kid-friendly version, a hot chocolate with my favorite peppermint mocha coffee creamer.

Recipe Swap

This homemade peppermint mocha recipe can be made for adults as a spiked peppermint mocha or simply for kids served plain with marshmallows.

  • For adults: add peppermint schnapps and/ or espresso for the perfect snuggler cocktail.
  • Instead of the peppermint mocha coffee creamer, you can use alternative milk and add in peppermint chocolate flavoring like chocolate peppermint syrup or extract.
  • For kids: serve plain and top with whipped cream and marshmallows to enjoy as a peppermint hot chocolate.

  1. Usually whenever I make anything minty I use creme de menthe, but this is definitely calling my name. This is the kind of winter drink I need after the cat knocks over the Christmas tree. ?
