This Ice Cream Pie Recipe is loaded with hot fudge, caramel, peanut butter, and chocolate that in an Oreo pie crust. I’m calling it a 7 layer pie because I made homemade ice cream full of layers of flavor!
Loaded Ice Cream Pie
This is not your regular no-churn ice cream pie recipe: This is a chocolate peanut butter pretzel caramel drizzle ice cream pie recipe. It’s a mouthful of a name and dessert! So we’ll just stick to calling this the loaded ice cream pie.
It’s too bad I can’t face-plant onto a computer screen. That might hurt, but if it would mean I could taste this pie again, I might try it.
Why you’ll love this recipe
- Homeade ice cream without a machine – no churn!
- An incredible mix of everyone’s favorite flavors including chocolate, pretzel, caramel, and peanut butter!
- Amazing for birthdays or special occasions
Ingredients Needed
- Oreo Crust: You can use a store bought crust or make my perfect Oreo Crust Recipe.
- Sweetened condensed milk and Heavy whipping cream: These create the no churn ice cream base.
- Hot Fudge: I prefer to make my own hot fudge sauce since it is so quick and easy to make, but you can use store-bought to save 5 minutes
- Caramel Sauce: I made my own caramel sauce with 3 simple ingredients, or use store bought.
- Peanut butter: you can’t ever go wrong with creamy peanut butter
- Oreos: I crushed my Oreos in a plastic sandwich bag or you can quickly blend them in a food processor
- Pretzels: coarsely broken pretzels to add some crunch and a salty-sweet goodness
- Sprinkles: rainbow sprinkles for a pop of fun
How to Make an Ice Cream Pie
- Stir together sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.
- Whip the cold heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form (make whipped cream) and then fold it into the sweetened condensed milk.
- Drizzle all of the peanut butter and about ⅔ of the hot fudge and caramel on top of the ice cream mixture, then sprinkle on Oreos, pretzels, and sprinkles. Fold to slightly combine – you don’t want it totally mixed but more want to see the swirls of sauces.
- Pour the ice cream into the prepared crust. Drizzle remaining hot fudge and caramel over the top and add more sprinkles, if desired.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Expert Tips
- To slice the frozen pie, heat your knife up with hot water for easy slices.
- Change up the extract flavors to add different flavors to the pie.
- Swap out any of the mix-ins for something else or use a graham cracker crust instead.
FAQs
If stored in the freezer, your homemade ice cream pie can last for up to 4 months.
The best way to store your pie in the freezer is to freeze your pie uncovered first. Once your pie is completely frozen, wrap it with plastic wrap.

OMG. I now know what I’m serving with my son’s macaron birthday cake this year! ๐ This looks AMAZING! I followed you here from the link party at Mandy’s Recipe box, by the way. I’ve also pinned this to my “How to Throw a Shindig” board. Also, Iโd like to invite you to come link up with me at my link party! Iโd love it if you could stop by & link up some of your recipes! Thanks so much for the pin!!
Everything about this looks SO good, and I love that you included a pretzel crust. I love combining sweet and salty treats to make a dessert!
Thanks Hannah!
Growing up I always had an ice cream cake on my birthday – I think this one needs to be “the one” this year! So awesome, lady!!!
Dorothy, this pie looks amazing! And my head is spinning with all the possible Oreo pretzel combinations!
Also, I read this the other day, and I have been laughing about “plant my face in that” since.
Hmm, I don’t live too far from you… Would you want to make this again next month for my birthday?? ๐
You used all of my favorite things! Ice cream, chocolate, PB, oreos, caramel… Oh my. Seven layers of pure bliss.
Ooooh…where do you live??? Are you in the Sac area??
Yes I am!! I’m in one of the Sacramento suburbs, about 20 minutes from the downtown area. ๐ (That’s actually how I found your blog — through the Sacramento Connect food blog section!)
Ha! Me too. I’m in Rocklin! ๐
Bummer, I’m on the exact opposite side of Sacramento — in Davis! So I was rather jealous when you went on your field trip to Winters for the walnut orchard. ๐ It’d be fun to meet up sometime if we both happen to be in Sacramento on the same day!
Totally! We drive through there a lot – my parents are in SF!
I love SF! I grew up in the Bay Area, so I spent a lot of time acting like a tourist around Ghirardelli Square and Japantown. (Gotta love chocolate and sushi!)
I’m excited; I hope we bump into each other sometime soon!
