This Raspberry Arnold Palmer will quench your thirst at your next summer gathering! The classic drink is jazzed up with raspberry and can even be made for adults only!
When I was a little girl, I had this BFF named Nadia. She and her mom lived with her grandparents, exactly 5 houses away from mine. We would hang out there a lot, probably because her grandparents would be home in summer and on vacations, while my parents were at work.
Our favorite thing to do was break out the Lego’s and watch old episodes of I Love Lucy while polishing off a bag of Doritos. Oh, and doing plays for our parents. My favorite one to re-enact was The Parent Trap. She’d wear a paper bag as a skirt and I would sneak behind her and cut out a section, just like in the bridge scene of the movie. Those are some of the fondest memories of my childhood.
Once of the things that I always drank at her house was iced tea. Her grandfather used the powder and made the tea in old juice jars. We’d drink gallons of it! He made it strong too – the drink had just that little bit of burn from the powder not quite dissolved. It’s been over 25 years, but I can still taste that iced tea.
For some reason, I’ve never drank iced tea since. Now, lemonade, that I love. I drink Crystal Light every day in summer. So when I was brainstorming a good summer drink to serve for a party, somehow and Arnold Palmer jumped into my head.
An Arnold Palmer is just lemonade and iced tea mixed together. It’s such a simple drink, but it sounds so fancy! I decided to dress up my Arnold Palmer a little by adding muddled raspberries to the glass. It adds a berry tartness that is so good mixed with the lemonade and iced tea.
You can use any ice tea you want, but I used this Limon Black Ice Tea that I got at World Market. I wanted to brew ice tea instead of buying a jug and when I saw this, I knew it would be perfect.
In fact, if you’re hosting a party this summer, or doing any sort of Outdoor Entertaining, you should totally check out World Market. I absolutely love all of their stuff. It’s one of those stores I can spend so many hours in. They have just about everything you’d need to make an awesome party.
Back to this drink. Isn’t it pretty? I added a sprig of basil because I didn’t have mint for garnish, but add what you have!
This drink is a fantastic afternoon thirst quencher. But it also makes a perfect evening cocktail! If you feel like jazzing this Raspberry Arnold Palmer up for adults only, just add a shot of vodka with the drink and raspberries to a cocktail shaker. You’ll have a drink that will make the parents happy!
Plain or alcoholic, this is a fabulous drink. I can’t believe I went so long without iced tea!
And I cant’ believe I’ve lived my life so long without plastic stemless glasses. Best. Purchase. EVER!
Enjoy!

You mean “arnold palmer”s half and half” yes I tried it too. There’s also a rasberry flavored version ( I think) I remember my mom used to make “tea flavored lemonade” by putting some nesteaยฎ in some homemade lemonade, and it tasted good too. ๐
Perfect beverage for the summer. Beautiful photos…
