S’mores Dip for Fall

I like to think of this recipe as a good transition between seasons because of the mixture of flavors. Which is great because then you can eat it more often around the year! It may not seem obvious, but pumpkin and s’mores always go great together! This recipe mixes pumpkin puree, chocolate ganache and marshmallow to create this masterpiece. It is soft and so good when it is served warm! This dip is my favorite when asked to bring something for a party!

S’mores Dip Ingredients

  • Pumpkin Puree: Not pumpkin pie mix.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice: Will smell amazing and be tasty!
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: Be sure not to use evaporated milk, they are different.
  • Semi-sweet or Milk Chocolate Chips: Either one is a great choice!
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Marshmallow Cream: Such a good ingredient, and a main portion for this s’mores recipe.

How to make S’mores Dip

  • Stir pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk together in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Place the chocolate chips and heavy whipping cream in another small bowl or glass measuring cup. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth (about 1 minute total in my microwave).
  • Pour the chocolate slowly over the pumpkin mixture. Use the back of a wooden spoon or a knife to swirl it.
  • Place the marshmallow cream and remaining ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk in yet another bowl. Heat for 20-30 seconds, until it stirs smooth. Pour slowly over the top of the chocolate pumpkin mixture and swirl again.
  • Serve immediately with gingersnaps, graham crackers, fruit, or pretzels for dipping.

Dipping Ideas

S’mores dip is so good because pretty much anything will taste good with it, but I personally love using pretzels or gingersnaps. You could use fruit and maybe even some vegetables! Graham crackers a classic dipper and they are great in this recipe too.

Expert Tips

  • If the dip thickens, reheat it to thin it out.
  • This recipe should be served immediately after making it to taste its full potential.

  1. Inspiring post, Dorothy. I do not understand how some people do not see the work mums do, SAHM have just as hard a job as a 9 to 5 office worker, if you ask me.  Mums are kinda amazing! And, btw, this dip?!?!? Too delicious looking to put into words! 😀 x

  2. I don’t have kids (just a fur baby) and I am in awe of all moms – stay at home, working or not. You ladies are AMAZING and it pains me to think that you think otherwise. Hugs for everyone. And Dip for everyone too! XO

  3. This looks so incredible!

Completely agree about women supporting each other – I personally find working all day out of the house much easier than trying to look after a number of children, keep the house clean, cook meals, etc and all at once! But the most important thing is that we support other women’s choices, even if they want not to have kids at all!

  4. So unbelievably fantastically said.  I am exactly the same way.  I was a stay at home mom doing nothing but moming (and allegedly cleaning, though it was never that clean) for almost four years before blogging and then another year and a half-ish before I turned this fun hobby into a for reals job.  I can say that while I would trade being a WAHM for anything, it’s HARD.  Thank you for writing this!  Moms need to lift each other up.  There are enough tiny peanut butter covered hands trying to pull us down 🙂
Also, yes.  I ABSOLUTELY need this dip!  And I’m 99% sure I have all the ingredients . . . sounds like dinner!!

  5. I’m not a “natural” mother either, Dorothy. Being a SAHM and working from home has been a constant struggle. Now that both of mine are finally in school FT, it’s been life changing. But like you said, my day doesn’t fit into a nice 8-2pm box.

For as long as I can remember, even when my mom was a SAHM, there has always been moms battling each other, who is better – the SAHM or the 9-5 Office mom. Why can’t moms see that THEY”RE BOTH HARD. Just different. And honestly, having done both, I think working from home is the hardest…because you can never ever turn it off.

Now I need this dip. A lot of it.
