I have a slight shoe addiction.
Hold on, let me rephrase that. I have a major shoe addiction. One that comes complete with a high.
Before I had a kid, back in the days with two incomes and places to be seen other than Target, I had lots of shoes. Nice shoes. Shoes meant to be seen. Heels, wedges, peeptoes. Sandals, boots, plaforms. Oh, yes, I fed my shoe addiction regularly back then.
I discovered the wonder of Franco Sarto at 23 and never looked back.
But then Jordan came along, and with her came nowhere to go and a half shoe size. My Francos were relegated to the back of the closet and only the boots came out but once a year.
Until now.
It started at Mother’s Day. I had asked for (and recieved) a pair of camel-colored peep-toe heels that were made for my feet. I wore them to dinner and they made my heart flutter.
And since then, my shoe addiction has returned in earnest. I’ve pulled out the old heels that still fit. I’ve added to my collection. Just last week I purchased a pair of color splashed peep-toe pumps that were full price. *Gasp*
Just thinking about them makes my heart beat a little faster. It makes me want to go look at them, try them on, and wear them to get the mail.
I’ve never done drugs, but methinks it’s a similar feeling?
Anyway, buying shoes is totally an okay addiction. It’s not like I’m going to sneaky back-alleys and spending all my money. I’m just going to our local outdoor mall and…spending all my money…
Besides. Buying shoes is like therapy, but way less expensive. I mean, you can go try on, say, black cocktail dresses for three days straight and just come home feeling dejected, fat, and old. But shoes?
Shoes never made a girl feel fat. Shoes will never stick to your body like ugly form-fitted silk. No way. They’re like insta-sexy.
So the addiction is totally acceptable.
Right?
And, I mean, I’m totally not going to be buying any form-fitting little black dresses anytime soon. Not with these babies in the stores.
This was my second bag of them, BTW. I have a feeling the first bag went to the place where little black dresses look bad on a person.
The recipe for these cookies calls for 1 cup of these Candy Corn M&Ms. Because that was all that was left in the bag. The second bag.
Sigh.
The white chocolate and super-sweetness of the M&Ms pair perfectly with a slightly sweet peanut butter cookie.
Kind of like shoes and me. They go perfect together.
The sticks? Well, everything is cuter on a stick.
Which is possibly why everyone is cuter in heels. Sticks, only more expensive.
Totally the same.
Right?
Peanut Butter Cookie Pops with Candy Corn M&Ms
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup Candy Corn M&Ms
- 12-15 craft sticks
- Halloween sprinkles if desired
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line 3 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars until well combined. Mix in egg and vanilla. Add salt and baking soda and mix well. Add flour and mix until just combined. Stir in M&Ms.
- Scoop large spoonfuls (I used an ice cream scoop) onto prepared cookie sheet and flatten slightly with the tines of a fork. (I got 13.) Press 1 craft stick into each cookie, inserting from one side into the center. Sprinkle with sprinkles.
- Bake 8-10 minutes, until edges are brown. Let cool completely before removing from cookie sheet.

Hey almost birthday girl…..you kill me! I totally crack up at your blog every day!! Thanks for the laughs…(and of course killer recipes)
You rock!
Yumm-o!! I was never one for fashion shoes, always functional shoes. If those functional shoes were fashionable that was a total bonus! My daughter, on the other hand, was given soooo many pairs of shoes by her grandmother. TONS and TONS of shoes! Her daycare sitter was calling her Imelda Marcos for crying out loud!
Those cookies look great! Still haven’t caved in and bout the m&m’s. Or the Oreos… One of these days…
Yea, except my sticks (legs) are more like tree trunks…thanks to things like your Peanut Butter Cookie Pops!
Love todays post! You gave me a much needed giggle ๐
