Every January my neighbors bring me a huge bag of oranges from their tree, so every year I make tons of orange flavored recipes. I’ve made orange pound cake and orange chicken, orange frosting and orange dream bars and now I’m adding an Orange Martini to that list!

It’s so fun to make new vodka martini flavors!

And Orange Martini is an easy cocktail recipe made with vodka and orange juice.

I always prefer making vodka martinis, but if you prefer you can make these into orange gin martinis. Vodka is my clear alcohol of choice, unless I’m making something Hawaiian (and even then I’ll add vodka and make a martini).

Since I live in Northern California, January is mandarin season. I’m close to the foothills where they grow all the mandarins (for the country, I assume) and they’re everywhere this time of year. That’s why this is, technically, a Mandarin Orange Martini, but you can use your favorite oranges. I think a blood orange martini would be amazing!

Orange Martini Ingredients

It’s really easy and you just need a few ingredients:

  • Use your favorite brand of vodka. You can even use orange vodka if you can find it (they sell it at liquor stores).
  • Triple Sec, which is an orange liqueur (like Cointreau).
  • Fresh orange juice really takes this cocktail to the next level.
  • Simple syrup is added to taste. How much simple syrup you add really depends on how sweet you like your cocktails.

This easy Orange Martini is light and sweet and crisp and the perfect refreshing fruity martini recipe!

Making a Martini

Martinis are the easiest things ever to make – just assemble all your ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour!

If you’re looking for something to do with some oranges – or you love lemon drop martinis, this is the cocktail for you!

  1. This is a great recipe, but we LOVE oranges and I substituted frozen concentrated orange juice for normal orange juice and it is good enough for Sunday breakfast with waffles!

  2. Gave 4 stars only because I personally felt after my first cocktail I needed some tartness. Maybe oranges I used werenโ€™t flavorful enough. So in pitcher Iโ€™d make added a splash of lime juice and wow excellent. Next time will try w/my sisterโ€™s oranges from her tree. Loved the ingredients I used Grand Marnier in place of triple sec. Will make again and reported howโ€™s with homegrown oranges maybe donโ€™t need lime juice. Wanted to post pic but couldnโ€™t.

    1. Enjoyed using fresh mandarin oranges. Will cut back on simple syrup. Only add 1/4 oz next time.
Very nice cocktail. My wife liked the foam texture of the drink.
