This is why this blog is good for me; it holds me accountable. Back in January I set some goals for 2012. Today I checked off one of those goals.

I ran the Race for the Cure, a 5k.

It was timed, but I have no idea how I did. {It doesn’t really matter.}

It’s a really inspirational race, if you’ve never done it. All that pink really makes you think.

I ran it for my step-mother in-law Mary, who is a survivor. And my friend Jackie, who is currently undergoing treatment and will be a survivor too.

And I ran it for someone else, too.

I ran it for me.

Happy Mother’s Day, to myself.

And to all of you too.

Hey, and just for me? Give your ta-ta’s a check tomorrow. It’s just a good thing to do.

xo,

Dorothy Kern

  1. You are AWESOME! What an amazing accomplishment! I know all those that have lost and won their battle with Breast Cancer appreciate your run for the cure!

    Take care and HUGS!

  2. Good for you!! What an exhilarating feeling seeing all those people come together for a great cause. Your softball cookies look so yum and fun. Have a great week.

  3. Woo Hoo for you Dorothy! Good going for a great cause! My siblings and I, and our children, all participated in the Race for the Cure 16 years ago, on the 10th anniversary of my mom’s death from ovarian cancer(though she survived breast cancer 15 years earlier).
    Happy Mother’s Day!

  4. What a great way to spend Mother’s Day weekend!
    I love your sneakers. You can’t go wrong with hot pink and black.
    Enjoy your day 🙂
