Hot Cheesy Pesto Dip – this super EASY appetizer recipe makes the perfect dip! Just 5 ingredients make a gooey, cheesy dip, full of basil and garlic pesto flavor!
OMG you guys, I’m SO embarrassed. Tell me this has happened to you too so I’ll feel better, okay?
Two weeks ago, I went to a birthday dinner for a friend. The other day, she texted me and just wanted to let me know that the Old Navy gift card I’d given her had shown empty.
I don’t remember getting her an Old Navy card, I thought to myself. Then it hit me: I got her a Bath and Body Works gift card, not Old Navy. But on that same shopping trip, I’d gone to Old Navy and spent a gift card I’d gotten for Christmas and thrown the empty card in the shopping bag I was using. In my rush to wrap her gift, I’d blindly grabbed the empty Old Navy card and gave it to her as a birthday gift.
Talk about mortifying! Luckily, she laughed and it’s now become a classic story we can tell. And yesterday, I went online and sent her a REAL Old Navy card.
Pretty much that describes how my brain has been for the past several weeks. I have too much stuffed in there and every time I add something new something else important falls out.
The Super Bowl is this weekend, one of those things I have to keep reminding myself because we also have about 1,234 other things we have to do this weekend. I cannot wait to sit and watch the game commercials and eat ALL THE FOOD. First up: GOOEY CHEESE.
With pesto.
This hot cheesy pesto dip recipe is super easy to make, with just a few ingredients. It’s easy to make for a small crowd or double for a big one.
And if your guests like pesto, they’re going to LOVE this.
But they also have to like cheese.
If they don’t like cheese, they’re not friends.
Cream cheese gets mixed with sour cream, then you stir in pesto, mozzarella, and parmesan. Top it with more mozzarella and bake it – this dip is not for the cheesy faint of heart. Gooey, warm, melty and full of garlicy basil flavor.
I’m not gonna lie: I ate most of this hot cheesy pesto dip myself. WITH A SPOON.
Hot Cheesy Pesto Dip

Dorothy, you know that onion flatbread you posted not too long ago?? I made that this past weekend. My husband said it was one of the best things I ever made. It was really good. Thanks. This recipe looks nice too
I’m so glad you liked it yay!!
Love the look of this dip! Cheesy goodness….YUM!
Lol, that will be a great story to always remember! Yes, I feel like I do the same. My brain is on overload right now and when I have to try and cram one more thing in there something else has to go. I call it mom brain and I think we all have it! This dip looks awesome and gooey cheese is my weakness!
Those types of things happen to the best of us – at least you both can laugh about it now! Your cheesy pesto dip looks perfect for the big football game this weekend!
That’s a fun story you’ll laugh at for years to come! Not as bad as you think, hehe!
