Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best recipes. When you find a Halloween trail mix recipe that tastes this good, why would you not want to make it? It literally tastes like a candy bar!

This is a 3 ingredient snack mix that tastes like a chewy crunchy Payday candy bar! It’s delicious and easy to make – everyone loves it!

Halloween Snack Mix Ingredients

  • Candy corn – I just use the regular candy corn, but there are so many flavored options now that could be good, too! You could even use the candy pumpkins.
  • Peanuts – It’s up to you if you want to use salted or unsalted peanuts.
  • Rice Krispies Treats – Buy them premade to save on time.

How to Make Halloween Snack Mix

  1. Add the candy corn and the peanuts into a bowl. Mix.
  2. Cut up the Rice Krispie Treats into 24 small pieces and mix them into the candy corn mixture.
  3. Serve!

Variations

You can easily make your own homemade Rice Krispies Treats for this recipe if you’d like. I just don’t always have the time, so I prefer to buy them already made and ready to go.

Also, while I totally understand that this is a Halloween recipe, you can easily change it up for other holidays! I’ll sometimes make this for Christmas and add red and green M&M’s in place of candy corn, and it’s always a hit! Have fun with the way you can change it up!

Pro Tip

If you get salted peanuts to combine with the other ingredients, the party mix recipe is going to taste identical to a PayDay candy bar!

FAQs

How do you store this Halloween party mix?

As long as you store this mixture in an airtight container, it will last for up to 2 weeks! It can be kept at room temperature without issue.

Can I double the recipe?

Absolutely! You can easily double or triple this recipe without any problems at all. This makes it super simple to make for a group!
You can also halve the recipe easily. I do this sometimes when it’s just me snacking on it – because otherwise, I’ll eat the entire batch.

Can I use other types of nuts?

I’ve only ever added peanuts because I really love the taste and flavor. But I do think that other nuts would taste great. Cashews are always a great idea, and walnuts are a winning choice as well.
I would stay away from harder nuts like almonds just because some people may not like the hard texture.

  1. I want to hug that little cauldron you used in your photos! What a great snack mix! I’d add in some extra chocolate since that’s how I roll. 🙂

  2. Genius use of RKTreats! And yes the peanuts/candycorn trick. I learned about that one back in the early days of blogging too and yes it swayed me from meh about candy corn to always a fan. You know what else I’ve never thought to use candy corn for…that bonking feeling at about mile 10 of a marathon when I normally eat Swedish Fish. Next race I’m also bringing candy corn…tastes WAY better than gel shots!

  3. Oh a three ingredient snack mix? Count me in! This looks so addicting, Dorothy! Love the rice krispie treats in here!

  4. I totally hear ya. I miss the days of having no real treats in the house. Now I feel angry if I somehow run out of tricked-out dessert.
Speaking of bomb dot com, this is what your snack mix here is. It’s perfect!!
