Happy Friday my peeps! What are you doing this weekend? Right now I’m at BlogHer Food in Austin, TX. If you’re there, be sure to find me!
Should we get started on our tour of random and sugar?
1. Jordan had a jog-a-thon at school on last week. I decided to run with her. She made it 14 laps, all in a sparkly vest. (Did you expect anything less from her?)
I swear, that girl runs FAST. I was running full speed and she still passed me. Crazy!
2. Do you like bananas? I certainly love to use them in cooking and baking! Did you know that Dole has kicked off a Summer Peel the Love tour? There’s a banana truck driving cross country and YOU can go see it! I’m going to have a post all about a party with some fun Dole products and recipes coming up soon, but if you happen to be in Sacramento this weekend, June 6-10, you can come out to see the banana truck in action! Check out their complete stop schedules this weekend, and for every weekend on the tour. You know you want a picture with a huge banana truck. I know I do!
3. Want some ice cream?
I do too.
4. What have you been reading lately? I really enjoyed The Neighbors are Watching by Debra Ginsberg. In my Kindle right now I have Comfort & Joy by Kristin Hannah, Drinking and Tweeting by Brandi Glanville and I am planning to purchase Deeply Odd by Dean Koontz and Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris (the last Sookie book) for my upcoming trips!
5. Recently the American Licorice Company sent me some Red Vines. It’s been so long since I had Red Vines, I’d forgotten how awesome they were (and how addicting)! I taught Jordan how to use them as a straw. She was very impressed. I have a feeling regular straws are thing of the past for her.
6. I just signed up for Stitch Fix for the first time. My first box comes next week. I’m so nervous about if stuff is going to fit. I said I’m a size bigger than at Old Navy, because Old Navy has fun sizing, right? I’ll let you know how it goes! Check them out to sign up for yourself! {That’s a referral link…so thanks for using it!}
7. These Poppy Seed Pretzel Dogs by Mom on Timeout totally made my mouth water. They remind me of my family trip through Amish Country 20 years ago – I ate my weight in pretzels that trip!
8. How about some Cookie Dough Truffles? And a funny story about my husband being my dad.
9. I’m loving these stick-on-nails. Have you tried them?
I’ve used both the Sally Hansen Salon Effects and the Kiss Nail Dress brands. They come in all sorts of fun patterns and colors, and the Kiss ones even have jewels. (I also love the Kiss ones because they come in fingers and toes. Some of the smaller toe ones will fit Jordan!) They stay on for several days and are perfect for traveling, plus you get tons of compliments. I’m wearing the fun sparkly ones at BlogHer this weekend!
10. Want a magic bar?
11. So there is a slight chance that I may get to visit Chicago this summer! My husband has business there in late July/early August and since this will be his first trip there not in the dead of winter, I told him Jordan and I need to come too. Where should we eat? What should we see?
Have an awesome weekend everyone! I’ll see ya’ on the flip side of Austin. 🙂
You have to eat downtown at Gino’s East! The atmosphere is just as good as the pizza. Shop at Water tower. Go to the top of the Hancock building. You have to pay to go to the observation deck. We just tell them that we are going to the bar and pay the same amount by ordering a drink or appetizer. Same view and you get to have a treat. Ferris wheel/Navy Peir is fun. Run along lake shore drive. Lincoln Park zoo is free. I’m not a big fan of the aquarium. Get’s super expensive if you start adding in all the extra’s (dolphin, etc…). Hershey store across the street from Water Tower. Yummy cupcakes…I could go on and on and on…
WOW! Thank you! Now I really, really hope this trip happens. So many cool things to do!
