Magic Oreo Bars Recipe

I love experimenting with new recipes and these chewy Oreo bars are my new obsession. If you know me, I have countless recipes on my site because once you know how to make a basic recipe you can easily customize it and switch it up so many ways.

You can substitute milk chocolate for the white chocolate chips and regular Hershey bars in this cookie and cream magic bar recipe. It will make your chocolate chip cookie bar extra chocolatey! Or, you can do a combination of regular chocolate and white chocolate, so feel free to experiment with this cookies and cream Oreo bar recipe.

Ingredients

  • Oreos: I used regular Oreos but you can use any kind you like
  • Butter: unsalted and melted
  • Chocolate chips: I’ll be using white chocolate chips for this recipe. This also tastes great with milk chocolate chips.
  • Hershey bars: I used a Cookies n’ Cream Hershey bar but use any flavor you like
  • Sweetened condensed milk: to pour over the crumbly cookie layers and give a creamy texture

How to make Oreo Bars

  • The easiest way to make the Oreo cookie crust is with a food processor. Just pulse the Oreo cookies until they break down into crumbs then mix the crushed oreo cookies with melted butter.
  • Spread the white chocolate chips and chopped Hershey’s bars over the crust.
  • Coarsely chop some more Oreo cookies. I like to keep them in bigger chunks – you don’t need to finely chop them. Sprinkle them over the top of the white chocolate and candy bars.
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until it’s golden brown. Then let them cool completely before serving.

Expert Tips

  • To dress up your Oreo bars dessert, sprinkle powdered sugar over the top.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the Oreo cookies in a resealable bag and crush them with a rolling pin or meat mallet. It’s a good stress reliever! Once you’ve mixed in the butter all you have to do is press the mixture into the bottom of your baking pan on the parchment paper.
  • You can use regular or fat-free sweetened condensed milk.
  • Feel free to swap milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips for the white chocolate chips.

FAQs

Can I use other flavored Oreos?

Yes! Oreo cookie bars have endless variations so feel free to experiment!

Can you freeze oreo bars?

You can also freeze them! Slice them and then place them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Pop them in the freezer for 30 minutes and then, once they’re frozen, you can keep them in a freezer container or bag for several months. Freezing the Oreo magic bars in a single layer first will prevent any sticking – if you just pile them in the container they will stick and freeze together.

Do oreo bars contain nuts?

No, Oreo bars do not contain nuts.
