Cinnamon Sugar Snack Mix – One of my absolute weaknesses is a sweet and salty snack mix. This Cinnamon Sugar Snack Mix fit that bill – plus it’s SO easy to make!

Easiest Homemade Snack Mix Ever!

Seriously, am I the only one who can inhale snack mix like it’s going out of style? Put a bowl of sweet or salty mix in front of me and it’ll disappear faster than my daughter when I tell her it’s time to clean her bathroom.

As much as I enjoy a savory Chex mix, sweet Chex mixes are where it’s at for me. Are you surprised? You shouldn’t be. #sugarismylifesource And where there is sugar, there should be cinnamon. <–that should be a t-shirt or something.

This Cinnamon Sugar Snack Mix is kind of a like a churro. Only better.

This Cinnamon Sugar Snack Mix would be perfect for a party, a bake sale, or a road trip. Or a random Tuesday. <–Definitely that. The cinnamon and sugar mixed with the salty pretzels and the sweet cereal is fantastic, especially with the almonds and candy!

ingredients in snack mix.

Ingredients Needed

  • Pretzels and Chex Mix: First, there needs to be some crunchy components. My two favorites to use are pretzels and cereal. Both are great filler and add some great sweet and salty flavor. I love using cinnamon Chex!
  • M&Ms: There needs to be chocolate, obviously. I mean no snack mix should come without candy, am I right? And no, raisins do not count as the “candy” component. (I’ll deal with raisins if I’m eating trail mix, but I like making my own mix so I can leave them far, far away in the back of my pantry where they belong.)
  • Almonds: The third component to any good mix, IMO, are nuts. My favorite nuts to add are almonds. I could live on almonds – I eat them almost every day. For this mix I used Honey Roasted Blue Diamond Almonds, but you can use your favorite.

How to make Snack Mix

  1. You simply toss pretzels and cereal pieces (I used Cinnamon Chex) with melted butter and cinnamon sugar.
  2. Then you bake the mix for about 18 minutes, stirring after 10.
  3. Let it cool then add the almonds and M&Ms and you have a mix everyone will love.

Expert Tips

  • You can use any kind of nuts (or any flavor) you like. Honey roasted is amazing, but raw or salted would be great too.
  • Pretzels are fantastic in this but you can omit them – or make it gluten free by using GF Pretzels.
  • Any Chex flavor works but Cinnamon Chex is SO good.
  • Use your favorite flavor M&Ms: caramel or pretzel would be fantastic.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week. I don’t recommend freezing this.

  1. I followed the recipe and stirred the cereal-pretzel mixture after 10 min in the oven, and put the timer on for another 8 minutes. At about minute 4 or 5, I smelled something burning and opened the oven to find the mixture browned/burnt. The batch was ruined!

    1. I am sorry that happened – it shouldn’t have done that. Possibly mine was more cramped than yours when baking? It shouldn’t have burned that fast. Is your oven temp correct?

  2. I put my cookie sheet lined with parchment in @ 350F. It started to burn and smoke within 5 minutes!
What is my problem? I checked the oven temp with a thermometer and it was right on. Had to fish out the scorched pretzels and Chex.
Hope there’ll be enough to fill a container for a gift for the yong lads next door.

  3. The recipe calls for 16oz of almonds, but Iโ€™m only seeing that they come in 6oz containers. Do you really use almost 3 containers in one batch?

  4. If you left a big bowl of this snack mix in front of me, it’d be gone in 2.34534 minutes. I’m waiting for dinner to cook right now, but I’d totally eat this for dinner instead ๐Ÿ˜‰
