Edible Chocolate Cookie Dough is my new favorite dessert: it’s raw cookie dough flavored with Cacao Bliss and tons of chocolate chips and it’s safe to eat! Learn how to make this heavenly cookie dough recipe without eggs and with pasteurized flour!
This post is sponsored by Earth Echo Foods’ Cacao Bliss, but all opinions are my own. Using the Cacao Bliss in cookie dough makes it a superfood you’re going to want to make again and again.
Double Chocolate Cookie Dough Recipe
I’m slowly working my way through all the different kinds of cookies and making edible cookie dough versions. This is my chocolate version and it’s fantastic.
- No eggs – making it safe to eat raw.
- If you’re worried about eating raw flour I’m showing you how to pasteurize it!
- The rich chocolate flavor comes from Cacao Bliss, one of my new favorite cocoa powders I’ve added to some of my favorite recipes.

What is Cacao Bliss?
Cacao Bliss is a combination of raw cacao and health-boosting superfoods. It has a rich chocolatey flavor that can curb your chocolate cravings without guilt.
Earth Echo Cacao Bliss is blended with Turmeric, MCT, Lucuma, and 4 superfoods (cinnamon, Himalayan sea salt, mesquite, and black pepper fruit). Raw cacao alone is a powerful antioxidant that can increase your energy level and curb cravings, and the other additions can help boost immunity, support brain health, help support blood sugar, and overall wellness.*
Basically, it’s rich and chocolatey with some added benefits and it can be added to anything you’d add cocoa too: coffee, smoothies, baked goods and so much more!
I’ve been adding it to my nightly protein shake ice cream and my afternoon iced coffee, and now I’m making raw cookie dough with it. Grab a bag here and use my code DOROTHY to save 15%.
Ingredients in Double Chocolate Cookie Dough
Butter: I love starting my cookie dough recipes with melted butter so I don’t have to use a mixer. Use unsalted butter or you can substitute liquid coconut oil.
Sugar: Brown sugar and granulated sugar are perfect for cookies.
Cacao Bliss: This adds all that chocolate flavor.
Vanilla and Salt: For flavor. The salt is needed since we’re using unsalted butter.
Milk: I use milk in place of the egg so the cookie dough is safe to eat.
Flour: I always use all-purpose flour in cookie recipes.
Chocolate Chips: Use your favorite brand. I used mini chocolate chips for more chocolate in every bite.
How to Pasteurize Flour for Cookie Dough
Basically all you have to do to pasteurize flour is bake it. Read my whole post about how to bake flour, but all you do is spread your flour on a cookie sheet and bake it at 350°F for 5 minutes.
How to make Chocolate Cookie Dough
1. One Bowl Recipe: Since we’re starting with melted butter, just add the sugars and Cacao Bliss to a large bowl and stir.
2. Mix: Add the milk, vanilla, salt, and flour and stir until smooth. Then stir in chocolate chips.
3. Serve as desired and store in the refrigerator covered for up to 3 days.
How to Serve Cookie Dough
There are a few different ways to serve the cookie dough:
- Straight from a bowl: Eat it like ice cream with a spoon from a bowl or an ice cream cone.
- Make Truffles: I love scooping truffles and rolling them in more Cacao Bliss, sprinkles or even dipping them in chocolate.
- Use it in other recipes: Make cookie dough ice cream, frost cupcakes with the cookie dough, or make Cookie Dough Bars or Cookie Dough Pie.
Tips for Healthier Substitutions
Since we’re adding Cacao Bliss to the cookie dough, you might want some other swaps to make the cookie dough even more guilt free. Here’s how to do it:
- Sugar: Use half as much sweetener as sugar called for or swap equal parts if the sweetener is a baking blend.
- Flour: Use Gluten Free 1:1 All Purpose Flour instead
- Protein Powder: Add 1 scoop of your favorite chocolate protein powder for some extra protein in every bite.
- Butter: Use coconut oil instead
- Milk: You can use nondairy milk or regular milk (any fat content)
- Chocolate Chips: Use sugar-free or nondairy or vegan chocolate chips
