Ingredient Notes

  • Canned Cinnamon Rolls – be sure to use the cans that have 8 cinnamon rolls each (not the Grands!)
  • Heavy Whipping Cream – in a pinch you can use regular whipping cream
  • Brown Sugar – be sure to pack it!
  • Variations – Add chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) or even raisins if you like.

Storing

  • Store leftovers covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container. You can refrigerate them but we usually leave them on the counter.
  • You can freeze leftovers but the rolls might get a bit soggy.

Expert Tips

  • Mixing the butter and brown sugar together is like when you make monkey bread.
  • Don’t skip the covering to bake part! That helps them cook all the way but stay gooey.
  • The heavy cream mixed with the brown sugar butter mixture makes a sort of gooey caramel for the rolls, almost like sticky buns but less sticky.
  • Use the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls to drizzle over the top.
