Easiest Ever Hot Pizza Dip

Pizza is a huge weakness for me. I could eat it every day and never get tired of it. Now I can add Pizza to that addiction. This is almost better than the real thing, and it’s definitely easier than making homemade pizza.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • This easy cheesy dip is a gooey cheesy hot appetizer that tastes like pizza without the crust. The crust comes in the form of the dippers you use, like pretzels or crackers, or Fritos.
  • It really is a win-win: you get all the pizza flavors and lots of cheese without all the hassle. Technically, this is an appetizer, but I can make a meal of it, and I’m not ashamed to admit it!
  • And this isn’t just your average baked dip – it’s a 7 Layer pepperoni pizza dip. That means it has seven layers of delicious gooey pizza flavor that you’re gonna flip for, I promise.
  • This layered pizza dip recipe is made with two kinds of cheese and all the best pizza toppings. When we make it for parties, it’s always the first dip to disappear!

Ingredients in Cream Cheese Pizza Dip

  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese: Be sure to use softened cream cheese to avoid lumps!
  • Spices: Dried basil and oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes all add tons of pizza flavor.
  • Cheeses: You’ll need grated Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese. I just love adding some cheddar to pizza – reminds me of my favorite childhood restaurant.
  • Pizza sauce: My favorite one is homemade but you can use any from the store too.
  • Toppings: Pick your favorites! Sliced pepperoni, olives, bell peppers – anything!

How to Make Pizza Dip

  1. Combine the cream cheese, herbs, spices, and Parmesan cheese using a hand mixer in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture in a 9” pie pan and spread the pizza sauce over the top. Sprinkle both kinds of cheese over the top of the sauce, followed by pepperoni, olives, and bell peppers.
  3. Bake at 350°F  for about 15 minutes or until it’s hot and the cheese is melted. Serve the dip hot.

What to serve with pizza dip?

You can serve all kinds of dippers with this hot pizza dip recipe. Here are a few we like:

Chips: Try some tortilla chips, pita chips, or Fritos.

Crackers: Ritz, Wheat Thins, or water crackers are all great, too.

Bread: Spread the dip on baguette slices or use breadsticks as a dipper

Veggies: Celery sticks, carrot sticks, and sliced bell peppers would be a healthy dipper!

BEST Pizza Dip Variations

Just like regular pizza, you can customize this hot pizza dip recipe with your favorite toppings. Here are some options:

Meat: Swap the pepperoni for salami slices, Canadian bacon, cooked and crumbled bacon, or cooked sausage crumbles.

Sauce: Try pesto instead of pizza sauce, or use your favorite jarred marinara sauce.

Cheese: Try using shredded provolone instead of mozzarella or mix in some shredded Parmesan for a different flavor.

Veggies: Cooked mushrooms, canned green chiles, onions, chopped banana peppers… whatever veggie you like on pizza will probably work in this dip!

  1. This dip looks delicious. I might have to try with non traditional dippings like garlic bread or even a cracker for that crispy crust taste. ย I can’t wait to try this with my family.ย

  2. I love me some 7 layer dip but i never thought about making it into a pizza. I might have to add some bacon crumbles to it as well when I try it.
