Is there anything better than candy in the form of fudge? I don’t think so! This Payday Fudge takes elements of the candy bar, like peanuts and turns it into this amazing fudge recipe. There is a chewy nougat center with candy corn and peanuts baked in. It is so delicious!
Homemade Payday Bars Recipe
Did you know that if you eat candy corn and peanuts together it tastes like a Payday? Original Payday candy bars have a super chewy texture and so does this fudge recipe! This payday candy bar recipe is super easy and has just a few ingredients.
When I usually make fudge, I just use white or regular chocolate chips. For this recipe I did that, but then also added peanut butter to the mix to make it as close to the candy bar as possible!
Ingredients Needed
- White Chocolate Chips – the base of the easy fudge.
- Peanut Butter: Creamy or chunky – but don’t use natural.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – this is what helps the fudge become, well, fudge.
- Candy Corn and Peanuts: This makes the peanut butter fudge taste like a payday.
How to make Payday Fudge
- Assemble all ingredients. Line an 8×8” or 9×9” pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Place white chocolate chips, peanut butter, and sweetened condensed milk in a medium saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring often, until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Working quickly, stir in 1 cup each of the candy corn and peanuts. Quickly spread in prepared pan and top with remaining candy corn and peanuts; press to adhere them to the top.
- Let fudge cool to room temperature, then chill to set. Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Expert Tips
- Use regular (not fat-free) sweetened condensed milk.
- Do not use a natural peanut butter that needs to be stirred.
- Your fudge should easily harden, but if it doesn’t–chill it and/or freeze it to set it.
FAQs
Store this fudge in an airtight container. I recommend storing it in the fridge.

I followed the recipe to a T but the stuff Iโm heating is just turning into a hard ball that will not melt. It looks like oil is separating also?? Iโm not sure. Been trying to stir it for 20 minutes and Iโm just out of breath with sore arms and a hard ball.
So it sounds like your white chocolate seized. White chocolate chips can be so finicky! It’s possible your pan was too hot – that can usually cause the issue.
Super easy to make. I gave it to family members for Halloween treats. They were skeptical about the combination of peanut butter and candy corn, but everyone raved about it.
This was easy, awesome, and cute!! By mistake, I added mini marshmallows before I poured it on a sheet tray (I looked at different recipes before deciding on this one, and from memory I thought this one had the marshmallows). I put little pumpkins on top, too. I took them to our hospital to thank them for all they do. They loved them! Thanks for a great recipe.
