Classic Sea Breeze Cocktail

A Sea Breeze Drink combines both grapefruit juice and cranberry juice with vodka and it is delicious. The combination of grapefruit and cranberry is so good – citrusy from the grapefruit and a little sweet from the cranberry. It is similar to a bay breeze drink, except this one uses grapefruit instead of pineapple.

Vodka Drink recipes like this one are my favorite because they can be made as single drinks, or in a pitcher. If you are making this recipe for just you and some friends, then make a few glasses. If your having a party – make a pitcher! You will be in love with the taste of this drink from first sip!

Ingredients Needed

  • Grapefruit Juice: Freshly squeezed or from the store.
  • Vodka: Use any brand of vodka that you enjoy or have on hand!
  • Cranberry Juice: I like using 100% juice but you can use any kind you like. Ocean Spray is a great brand.
  • Simple Syrup (optional): If you like a sweeter drink, then add some simple syrup (see note)

Variations

  • Instead of vodka, you can use apricot brandy or gin.
  • If you don’t like grapefruit, you can substitute pineapple juices.
  • Add a bit of grenadine for extra sweetness.
  • Garnish with a lime slice or grapefruit wedge.

How to make Party Punch

  • To make one cocktail: use a shaker to shake together juice, vodka, and cranberry juice. Pour over ice and garnish with lime and cherry. It’s not quite equal parts, but close.
  • To make a pitcher:  add all ingredients to a pitcher and stir. Add lime slices and cherries to glasses for garnish.

Expert Tips

  • For garnish: I love adding a lime wedge or lime wheel to this sea breeze cooler. You could also have a salted rim!
  • If you want a similar cocktail try a salty dog!
  • This drink sits nicest in a highball glass!
